ECOWAS President Accredits H.E. Dr. Julius Sandy as High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to Nigeria

The President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Dr. Umar Alieu Touray, officially received the letter of credence from His Excellency Dr. Julius F. Sandy, the newly appointed High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to Nigeria, on 24th February 2025 at the ECOWAS Headquarters in Abuja.

During the accreditation ceremony, President Touray congratulated High Commissioner Sandy and expressed appreciation to President Julius Maada Bio and the people of Sierra Leone for their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between Sierra Leone and the ECOWAS Commission, pledging to enhance cooperative efforts that foster regional stability and development.

High Commissioner Sandy expressed his readiness to engage actively with the ECOWAS Commission as a member of the Permanent Representative Committee (PRC).

He highlighted his commitment to advancing the goals of ECOWAS and supporting the development aspirations of President Bio’s administration.

Both leaders shared optimism about strengthening the partnership between Sierra Leone and ECOWAS, focusing on initiatives that promote peace and security throughout West Africa.

High Commissioner Sandy reaffirmed his dedication to bolstering ties between Sierra Leone and the ECOWAS Commission on behalf of his government and the people of Sierra Leone.

In another diplomatic engagement, High Commissioner Dr. Julius F. Sandy had a productive meeting with His Excellency Richard Mills Jr., the United States Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Both diplomats expressed their commitment to strengthening the already cordial relationship between their nations.
They highlighted the importance of collaboration for mutual benefit, focusing on development, security, and the promotion of regional and global peace.
