
His Excellency Dr. Julius F. Sandy at the ‘Bangladesh Festival of Youth 2025′ in Abuja, Nigeria.
His Excellency Mr. Masudur Rahman, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, invited His Excellency Dr. Julius F. Sandy, the High Commissioner-Designate of Sierra Leone to Nigeria, to attend the Bangladesh Festival Youth program. This event took place at the residence of the Bangladesh High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria, on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
The occasion offered a splendid showcase of the rich cultural heritage of the people of Bangladesh; featuring traditional music, dance, and culinary delights that created an atmosphere of joy and unity amongst the attendees.
During the event, the two distinguished diplomats engaged in meaningful discussions about the bilateral relations between their respective countries. They also exchanged views regarding the possibilities to create further joint cooperations in the areas of trade, agriculture, health, cultural exchanges, and educational initiatives.
Both diplomats expressed optimism regarding the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships.
Dr. Sandy seized the moment to recall the invaluable role played by the Bangladeshi contingent in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Sierra Leone during the civil war. He underscored the sacrifices made by the peacekeeping troops in promoting stability and reconstructing critical infrastructure across the country.
The occasion attracted a diverse audience, including diplomats from other Mssions in Abuja and senior officials from the Federal Government of Nigeria, who also contributed to the lively and engaging atmosphere of the event. The traditional Bangladeshi cuisine was served, enriching the experience of guests.
