H.E. Julius Sandy receives warm reception at the Sierra Leone mission in Abuja.

On 11th November 2024, H.E. Dr. Julius Sandy , the High Commissioner-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was officially welcomed to the Chancery Building located at the Diplomatic Zone in Abuja.

He was welcomed by the Head of Chancery and Minister Counselor Yousuf Freeman Benga Samah and the Deputy High Commissioner Anna Moussa.

The official welcome of the High Commissioner to the Sierra Leone Mission signals his assumption of diplomatic responsibility on behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

The Deputy High Commissioner, Anna Moussa, and a cross section of staff, led the new High Commissioner on a conducted tour around the Chancery Building and the staff quarters of the Mission.

In his reaction after the conducted tour, the new High Commissioner thanked the Deputy Head of Mission, the Head of Chancery and staff for service to Sierra Leone, away from home.

He expressed concern over the dilapidated status of the Chancery Building and staff quarters, with visible structural damages and no longer occupied by staff. Dr. Sandy urged the Head of Chancery to cause the preparation of a detailed report for transmission to Freetown.

It is to be noted that all staff members are housed outside of the designated quarters, thereby accelerating the damage and increasing the financial burden on Government for the running of the Mission.
