High Commissioner Davies Presents letters of credence to President Biya’s Minister of External Relations
His Excellency Rupert Sydney Duwo Davies, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and accredited to the ECOWAS Commission including six other countries within the ECOWAS Region and Central Africa, on Wednesdy 30th March 2022 presented his letters of credence to the Government of the Republic of Cameroon.
During the ceremony in the Conference Hall of the Ministry of External Relations, High Commissioner Rupert Sydney Duwo Davie’s first presented the letter of recall of his predecessor, before presenting his letter of credence to the Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Cameroon-His Excellence Mbella Mbella who represented President Paul Biya.
“I have the honour to present to you the letter of recall of my predecessor as well as the copy of my credence whereby His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, accredits me to the Republic of Cameroon as High Commissioner Extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Cameroon”, High Commissioner Davies stated.
On behalf of President Julius Maada Bio and the people of Sierra Leone High Commissioner Davies expressed appreciation for the sustained bilateral ties Cameroon and Sierra Leone continue to enjoy.
He also mentioned the hospitality provided for the Sierra Leonean community in Cameroon without any threat and expressed profound thanks to the Government and people of Cameroon.
High Commissioner Davies assured the Government of President Paul Biyah that the President and Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone will continue to collaborate and strengthen the shared interests in deepening the bilateral relations and promoting peace and security within the ECOWAS Region and Africa at large.
In their bilateral engagements after the presentation ceremony, the Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Cameroon His Excellency Mbella Mbella and High Commissioner Davies discussed wide range of issues among them were to establish consulates in both countries, agreed on political consultation for a Joint Cooperation Commission (JCC) and the strengthening of both private sectors of mutual benefit.
On his part, the Minister of external Relations His Excellency Mbella Mbella on behalf of the Cameroonian President Paul Biya congratulated His Excellency Rupert Sydney Duwo Davies and in turn extended warm wishes of appreciation to H. E. President Julius Maada Bio and the people and government of Sierra Leone.

He expressed confidence that the governments of Cameroon and Sierra Leone will closely work together to promote the interests of the two countries within the framework of good governance, mutual progress and the maintenance of peace and security among nation states in Africa.
His Excellency Mbella Mbella also commended President Julius Maada Bio for his exemplary leadership role played in the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, Turkey and as Chairman of the Committee of Ten on the Reform of the United Nations Security Council.
Both Cameroon and Sierra Leone are on the brink of elevating their relationship backed by the imperative political will to actualize their vision and development aspirations on behalf of their citizenry.
High Commissioner Davies was accompanied by the Counsellor and the Head of Chancery Mohamed Sorie Conteh for the ceremony marking the presentation of his letter of credence.
